Travelers, The highest bidder will receive a one week stay at the charming vacation home of Devotion School's Building Aide Karen Blackburn, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This offer is good from June 1 through the end of August, 2009. Karen can be contacted regarding dates prior to bidding. Karen says to be sure to note "no flu worries" in this tiny secluded town in the hills. La Casa was built in the hacienda style with all the rooms opening up onto a charming central courtyard with a bubbling fountain. The house sleeps four with two bedrooms and two full baths. The house has many lovely architectural details. La Casa is fully furnished. Utilities and maid service are included. (A $500 security deposit is requested. No smokng or pets, please) For those who haven't heard about San Miguel, it's a historically preserved town in the mountains of central Mexico. It has cobblestone streets, lovely old buildings and gorgeous flowers everywhere. There is a large artist colony so there are many galleries, music and film festivals and live theater. There are many terrific restaurants, the Mexicans are wonderful people, you don't need a car, the weather is almost always perfect, hot springs are just outside of town, AND it's not very expensive to be in Mexico. You fly to Leon/Guanajuato (airport code: BJX) and take a shuttlevan to your front door in San Miguel. All this can be arranged online.
