Starting on October 16, 2009, Love For Kids will be auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to bid on to raise money for our organization - and the more items we have the more money we can raise, so we're asking for your help.

The LOVE FOR KIDS charity organization was established by Bill Barrett, and Alan Powdermaker. Bill and Alan wanted to have a special Christmas party for approximately 200 of the children that were sent here from Southeast Asia after the Vietnam War and other local disadvantaged children. Their objective was to show these children what a real Texas Christmas was like. This event has grown each year and most recently entertained 4000 children. At the party each child is given a brand new toy furnished by guests of the annual "Margarita Ball." Additional toys are needed and solicited for this event as well as to distribute to dozens of local agencies during the holidays. LOVE FOR KIDS also sponsors an annual senior citizens party called Spring Fling and All Kids Count summer picnic for chronically ill and medically fragile children and their families, and sponsors an after school program for underprivileged children.
