Description

16"x20" framed and matted painting on canvas panel.  This is a strong painting showing the belly scales of Sarge the Gray Rat Snake as he slithered across the blue textured background of the canvas.  It was painted in blue, green and purple.  The colors of the painting are highlighted by a classic black frame and double mat in black with a white inner border.

Gray rat snakes are common in the Southeastern United States.  Sarge is part of the Education animal collection at the Birmingham Zoo and spends many of the warmer months on exhibit in the Children's Zoo barn.
