Professor Monique Saigal from Pomona College flew from California to Portland recently to present the stories of 18 women of the French Resistance, to a packed audience at the Kamm House. The heroines are the subject of her book, HÉROÏNES FRANÇAISES 1940-1945 : COURAGE FORCE ET INGÉNIOSITÉ, published by Le Rocher, and which also holds the honor of being chosen as the 2009 "One Book - One Federation" book selection by the national Federation of U.S. Alliances. This is a signed version that Prof. Saigal has donated for this fundraiser --  ideal for holiday giving for the Francophile or French reader in the family.
